I'm only 26, but a 70s HISTORICAL doll would make me feel old. It'd be neat to have another African-American historical, but from the 1960s. She'd be exactly 100 years from Addy, a fitting commemoration of the struggle for civil rights between the Civil War and the final breakdown of legal segregation and oppression. I don't know if I'd buy her, because 60s clothes were ugly in my opinion, but I'd buy the books and think it was neat and educational. I wouldn't buy a doll from the 70s. I find the fashions during that time repulsive. No offense to anyone- I look back on the 80s with embarassment of what I wore then too (remember the leg warmers and stretch lace- blech).
I'd really love to see a Scottish immigrant doll from the 1720s, maybe with a few French gowns somehow, because the fashions were gorgeous during that time and the stories were interesting. I'd still like to see a historical Jewish doll and also an Asian one. I really like the idea of a Chinese immigrant during the 1800s to San Francisco. There are not enough west coast dolls yet IMO. I just old time periods- turn of the century and before.
